Yoga for the Flexibility-Challenged
Getting old doesn't have to mean putting up with increase stiffness and aches and pains. Flexibility is
an important, yet often neglected dimension of fitness, as important as strength-training and aerobic
conditioning. As we age, collagen fibers begin to stick together causing increased stiffness, and
making you walk and move in ways that are neither safe nor comfortable.
This workshop lays out the latest scientific findings on how to keep the body flexible and supple even
as we age. You will learn different ways of stretching that works on different types of tissues and
experience how stretching can be a fun and restorative practice. The workshop starts with a 30 min.
lecture followed by a restorative practice of soothing yoga stretches using the different methods of
stretching. $18.00
